I was born in Seattle and raised in the great Northwest. Like most creatives, I began in childhood to escape; to reflect on the
subtleties of nature and patterns of light and shadow. Always thinking in pictures, and wanting to present a more cheerful
view, I was known for saying…. look at it THIS way!
My interest in Interior Design led to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
from Washington State University. I enjoyed the extensive study
of art history and of the individual styles of early artists. Equally
fascinating was the history of architecture and the role our environment
plays in everyday life. Coursework in Interior Design
and Space planning included perspective drawing and some watercolor renderings
of our designs. The paints weren’t touched again until
recently.
Following college I gained years of experience designing commercial office
spaces, enhancing work environments. Wishing to help people in
a more significant way--where they live--I moved to residential consultation
and rounded out my repertoire with cabinet shop design work and training
in landscape design. Soon I had created a niche in the Remodeling
Design business and won some awards with kitchens, baths, room additions
and whole house remodels.

I studied 'Creative Expression' at the Institute
for Transpersonal Psychology in Menlo Park. There we used
every medium. Having loved photography for years, and with
a quick drawing course under my belt, I began to translate all I experienced
through an artists eye. Rediscovering
watercolor and the passion of inspiration at this point in my life
is exciting.

Though foreign travel expanded my world in the past,
now I find it is my day-to-day experience with people that opens
my eyes and sparks again that need to express my view! |
