67 Bird parts!
Welcome to my first attempt at an HTML project. I aquired this beat up old parts car
,and I will be happy to see whatever surviving parts get used.
Prices will mostly just cover my labor for the project. Trades welcome.
I am hoping to take the remains to the recycler within a few weeks.
The car
1967 Pontiac Firebird Sport Coupe
- The paint wasSignet Gold
with Black vinyl top.
- The trim color and material were Parchment Vinyl Bucket Seats without headrests.
-
This car was number 4,589 built in the 1st week of March at the Lordstown, Ohio plant.
as determined by observation and the trim tag decoder at Geoff Martins
excelent frirstgen firebird site
came with the following options:
and came to me with:
-
a 3.8 litre OHC inline 6 engine #ZN8 05328 165HP, 9.0:1 CR This is correct for a 1967 firebird
- should have cam# 979L539, distributor 111 0431
- TH300 2 speed automatic transmission # 68MM055N, a 1968 unit, probobly a replacement
- Ralley wheels #7 JK 14"diameter,but only two of them
- the top is white, body red
- a non F-body rear end
- The motor has compression(neither of my compression guages will go into a hole that deep,
don't know how much)
- Has spark, and sputters with ether in the manifold
- Trans fluid looks/smells good(mmmm). I think it ran when parked
- Brakes are out, rear seized, I have a good front drum setup swapped for discs in my driver
- Much chrome is still ok
- Most door hardware, including window fuzzies are ok, exc left rear window mechanism may be bent by tree
- I also have a pair of 3 chamber Flowmasters with aluminised tailpipes extracted from a wrecked Nova,
So new there are still stickers stuck to them. Looks like close or identical to Firebird system,
for sure workable if you weld
- I am willing to sell almost any part that can be removed with a torch
My best guess as to the cars history ;
Wrecked left front, replaced door and fender,
wrecked right front suspension, sat untill a tree fell on it,
just missing the back window which popped out, then sat untill the old man gave up on it.
he tells me "I realize Im going to be dead before all these cars are finished,
so I'm just trying to finish the Mopars."
Whatever floats your boat I guess.
Some clever rodents had invaded. They eat the nuts out of the acorns, pack the shell with styrofoam,
and filled the empty spaces in the car with these little insulating shells! YUCK!
All of the above pics, and more can be viewed via the thumbnails below.
Hovering over the thumbnail will show a short caption,

Hey, this web design stuff is kind of tedious, but easier than wrenching on the car! In winter anyway.
